It can be all too easy to focus on the negatives at the minute. Even the most chipper of individuals would find it difficult not to be worn down at least a little bit by the constant doom and gloom of the news at the minute.
But that’s why it’s so important to focus on the positives, as well. To remember that, even during all this misery, moments of light still always have a habit of cropping up – when a helping hand can go a long way. That’s exactly what happened the other day to some of our Borehole boys, when things got a little bit wintery out on the roads…
Brighouse Brought To A Standstill
Heavy snow and ice led to treacherous conditions around Brookfoot, near Brighouse, last week, causing two articulated lorries to become stuck and completely clogging up the roads. One car was also in a pretty tricky spot which meant it could quite easily have become damaged were it not for some of our team.
Using one of our large sonic drilling rigs and a couple of heavy-duty four-by-fours, the boys were able to tow the lorries back into a position on the road from which they could get going again. Before too long, thanks to the team’s quick work, the road had been cleared again and traffic was (carefully) back under way. In tough conditions, the team showed quick thinking and a real community spirit.
Here’s What Our Director Had To Say…
Andy Pearson is Managing Director of Borehole Solutions North (the Northern arm of the Borehole Solutions Group). He couldn’t be happier with the can-do attitude that his team showcased, “I was so proud of the lads,” He said. “It’s exactly the sort of thing people need to hear about at the minute. People helping each other out when the going gets tough.’
“You can be as skilled and as successful an industry group as you like,” Andy continued. “But at the end of the day, it’s the people that make the difference. That’s why I was so pleased with the lads and what they did.”
