Here at Borehole Solutions, we like to get dirty and make some noise when drilling our boreholes, but we know this isn’t always what is required of us. Our machines are nice and bulky, as you’d expect of heavy machinery, but this means they can cause disruptions when we work on roads during the day.
To combat these issues, Borehole Solutions are very flexible to allow for any special requirements our clients need. For work that isn’t too noisy, or is away from houses, we can carry it out at night. For example, we have recently performed a survey on a railway bridge that is due to be upgraded. Due to the nature of the work, being carried out between the tracks, this would cause disruption for commuters during the day, so we worked overnight (on a Saturday, no less!) to fit in with what would be best for everyone else.
Similarly, we can carry out work on closed highways overnight. As this is generally far away enough from homes to not be a nuisance and generate a million noise complaints for the council, we can be as loud as we need to be. This is ideal, as the work we carry out on highways often involves one of our big borehole drilling rigs. These rigs can be seriously loud, with volume measurements reaching around 90 decibels within 50 feet of the machines. With the night time limit being a measly 40 decibels, we have to be quite far away for this to be allowable. For context, this is about as loud as standing next to a lawnmower compared to having a quiet conversation. There’s a fair amount of difference! Of course, the borehole drilling rigs take up a lot of space too, so it is handy to do this when people don’t need to use the space for something else.
Efficiency for project work
This can also be useful to help speed up projects, which is really handy when you have tight deadlines, as most do! As there is unlikely to be any other works going on overnight, there shouldn’t be anything getting in our way, so we can get in quicker and do the work faster than during the day. It also means you can easily access the site straight away in the morning if you need to. We’re really good at working around a time frame that is best for you to create the least amount of disruption as possible.
Borehole Solutions always go above and beyond to provide the best service for our clients. From carrying out work overnight to working in places with limited access, we’re flexible and we can do it all. Whatever your requirements, we’d love to hear from you, so get in touch!
